THE ‘HOLE’ STORY
It was the 1920s, and car magnate Henry Ford wanted to streamline his process. Looking around the plant, Ford noticed even the strongest mechanics struggling with a heavy, cumbersome drill that required both hands to operate. That’s when Ford tapped a young tool manufacturer to invent a portable one-handed drill. That manufacturer, A. H. Petersen of Milwaukee® Electric Tool Corp., succeeded.
Milwaukee’s one-handed drill, the HOLE-SHOOTER™, became the industry’s first small, lightweight power drill. Since then, Milwaukee has invented iconic tools like the SAWZALL® Recip Saw, the Magnum Hole-Shooter® and the Hole Hawg®.
